The Object Oriented Database (Objectivity/DB) is used in PHENIX as the detector calibration and file cataloging storage system. The calibration information is needed for realistic reconstruction of simulated events. The main purpose of the replication is to gain better response time for user applications by accessing data from local disk rather than to transfer each single file over the wide area network. It is important to synchronize the update and write operations with main copy of the database or with other replicas. A scheme will be discussed which will benefit the replication sites and also fit into the PHENIX computing policies.
