Principle results of investigations of the velocity field in the photosphere of the sun are presented. The amplitude of the microturbulent component of the velocity field is determined from the curves of growth, and the mean velocity of the microturbulent motions in the solar photosphere is 1.0 km/s. In the region of the formation of weak and medium-strong lines, the microturbulence increases with height, the macroturbulence decreases, and the total velocity field is depth independent. The velocity field in the solar atmosphere is anisotropic, and the horizontal component is larger than the vertical one. The damping constant is 1.3-gamma 6, 1.7-gamma 6, 1.6-gamma 6 and 1.6-gamma 6 for lines of iron, titanium, chromium and nickel, respectively, and the mean sizes of the turbulent elements in the solar photosphere are 500-600 km.
