Cyclotron Radiation: Degenerate Matter

Scientific paper

Population balance equations for the Landau levels in a non-relativistic rarefied plasma are written for arbitrary polarization of cyclotron modes. The self-consistent evolution of the transverse distribution of electrons interacting, by virtue of the cyclotron processes, with an isotropic radiation at frequencies near the first harmonic of the electron gyrofrequency is studied.
