The loop structures observed in the corona show a range of geometrical attributes (length, aspect ratio, etc.). We identify Rechester-Rosenbluth diffusion in tangled fields as the most rapid cross-scattering mechanism. We simulate the appearance of loops under the assumption of Rechester-Rosenbluth diffusion and compare the results with TRACE images to constrain the degree of tangling of coronal field lines.
