The basic equations describing the behaviour of electromagnetic and gravitational short waves in relativistic gas in an external gravitational field are derived. Short EM waves in plasma split into quasi-longitudinal and quasi-transversal ones in the external gravitational field. The amplitude and eikonal of these modes satisfy a system of partial differential equations. An equation is obtained for the amplitude of the gravitational short wave in relativistic gas. The law of the electromagnetic wave amplitude damping in plasma in the external gravitational field is obtained for the case where the angular frequency is much greater than the product Boltzmann constant times average particle heat velocity.
