We discuss the propagation of cosmic rays from their sources to us through the galactic magnetic fields and matter. The main effect of the scattering in magnetic fields is to isotropize the cosmic ray flux. Interactions with matter form the observed chemical composition. The inverstigations of unstable isotopes generated in such collisions reveal the containment time of the cosmic rays in the Galaxy.
