Evidence indicating galactic origin of cosmic rays is presented and the existence of an extensive ordered magnetic field outside the galactic plane is suggested. Distribution of cosmic ray shower observations, as plotted on celestial coordinates, show highly anisotropic arrival directions and strongly suggests galactic origin. Three aspects of the observed anisotropies - time of maximum intensity, fall in the cosmic ray flux, and distribution of highest energy rays - accord well with a galactic origin and a magnetic field outside the galactic plane.
