Cosmic rays play an important role in many atmospheric processes. We consider the following issues: cosmic ray ion production in the atmosphere; the role of cosmic rays in the global electric circuit operation (the relationship of cosmic ray fluxes with air electric current, thundercloud electricity and lightning production); the relationship between cosmic ray fluxes and cloud coverage.
