Data from a standard IGY neutron monitor located on Mount Washington, New Hampshire, have been examined for possible increases associated with solar flares. The 0400 and 0900 impact zones have been located for both the standard centered dipole and the westward rotated centered dipole approximations. No increases >=0.25% have been found for the years 1956 and 1957. An additional maximum in the mean daily cycle at the time of impact zone passage has not been observed during this period. Possible explanations for this result are presented.
