Using the hourly data from the Mexico City neutron monitor we have done calculatrions of the solar diurnal variation for the period 1996-2000. Results show a phase shifting of the variation towards later hours and an enhanced amplitude in the years of increasing and maximum solar activity (1998-2000). The effect is present with similar characteristics if we use all data or if we filter them to use only geomagnetically quiet days. The explanation of this solar diurnal variation behaviour is in the evolution of solar wind parameters.
