A harmonic analysis of cosmic ray data recorded during solar cycle 20 was used to study the cosmic ray solar diurnal anisotropy. The cosmic ray data are derived from ionization chamber readings and from neutron monitor records. The time-invariant nature of solar anisotropy in the region near 1 GV during the period 1957-1970 is noted. The solar diurnal variations tabulated here are in agreement with two periodic variations correlated with the 20-year and 11-year cycles, as found by Forbush (1967).
