The kinetic equation describing cosmic ray propagation in interplanetary space is used to obtain a system of equations in the diffusion approximation. If the Larmor radius of particles in the regular field is much greater than the correlation radius of the random magnetic field, the second harmonic of the cosmic ray distribution function is included neither in the cosmic ray transport equation nor in the particle flux density expression. The expression for the second spherical harmonic in the case of a strong regular field and in the opposite limiting case is analyzed.
