The cosmic ray intensity modulation observed at the boundary crossing of the interplanetary magnetic field sector structure is studied for its relationship to the approximately thirteen-day oscillation that occurred in 1973 and 1974, when the magnetic field was divided into two sectors of opposite polarity. The thirteen-day oscillation was isolated with periodal analysis and a superposed epoch analysis was performed, taking as zero day the day of sector boundary passage. The analysis was extended to the geomagnetic index. For the cosmic ray intensity a wave of about thirteen days appears in all cases, passing through zero with negative slope just in the day of sector boundary passage in 1974 and one day earlier in 1973. The trend of the wave for the geomagnetic index is practically in phase opposition with the cosmic ray intensity.
