Instrumentation on-board the Japanese ISS-b satellite recorded the average galactic radio noise at the frequencies 5, 10, and 25 MHz and noise levels from the galactic center and anticenter at 2.5, 5, 10, and 25 MHz. The location of the galactic center was determined by radio occultations whenever the satellite reached a certain position in its 1100 km circular orbit. The average radio noise was within 480,000 K of 1,710,000 K, within 105,000 K of 415,000 K, and within 10,700 K of 34,700 K for the 5, 10, and 25 MHz bands, respectively. The noise generated by the center was 2.2-3.5 dB higher than that of the anticenter in the HF range measured.
