Simultaneous ground-based and satellite measurements of long-period geomagnetic pulsations are analyzed. The absence of a correlation between ground-based observations and measurements in the equatorial plane of the magnetosphere along a geocentric orbit is established. Within the framework of specific models, this lack of correlation is attributed to the apparently different physical nature of pulsations recorded at the earth's surface and in the equatorial plane of the magnetosphere.
