Deviations in the correlation between solar activity, as indicated by the Wolf number or relative sunspot index, and the intensity of galactic cosmic rays and solar proton flux are studied. Cosmic ray data for the period 1959 to 1974 and proton flux data for the period 1965 to 1974 were examined to discover patterns of changes which preceded or followed similar changes in the Wolf number.
