The method of satellite orbit correction and ephemerides determination in use at the satellite observation station at Olsztyn, Poland is presented. Observations of satellite topocentric angular positions on the celestial sphere at discrete times during one pass of the satellite are used to determine approximate satellite orbits. Differential orbit correction then proceeds on the basis of solutions of the general asymmetric problem of two fixed bodies, taking into consideration the second, third and fourth zonal harmonics of the earth's gravitational field. Ephemerides are then calculated for the next two nights by observing the illumination of the satellite by the sun when the sun is at least 10 deg below the station horizon and the satellite at least 30 deg above it. The orbit correction and ephemeris determination methods presented can be used at any observing station making visual observations.
