Scientific paper
A review of the development of coronal magnetic field models is
presented. Each model's assumptions are discussed with reference to
their validity within the solar corona. It is pointed out how remarkable
it is that electrodynamics is applicable on a large scale as well as on
the small scale from which it originated.
