The possibility of transferring mechanical and magnetic energy from MHD waves propagating in the solar corona to smaller and smaller scales via nonlinear effects, starting from a phase-mixed configuration is studied. The efficiency of this turbulent cascade and the turbulent spectra (in space and time) are worked out numerically. The time spectrum suggests the onset of chaotic behavior, The resulting heating rate meets the energetic requirements to heat the corona.
