Scientific paper

A relationship between mechanical energy input into dwarf star coronae
and the amount of energy released as flares is demonstrated. Since
flares are generally held to be the result of magnetic field
annihilation in loop structures this relationship strengthens the view
that the mechanical energy into such coronae is also via magnetic loops.
