In a continuation of a project begun in 1996, we propose to obtain high time-resolution photometric data for a set of eclipsing AM Her(culis) objects. Some of the observations will be coordinated with simultaneous high time-resolution, spectrally resolved x-ray data obtained with the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) satellite. Time on RXTE for this project has been awarded. Our goals are to understand the geometry and characteristics of the accretion flow, the sites and geometry of the emission regions, to gain insight into the ``soft x-ray" problem, and to settle the question of the high-energy photon production. As time permits, we will continue our survey program of observing newly discovered AM Her systems to search for high-speed variability.
