A theoretical analysis is presented of the development of nonlinear axisymmetric convective instability in a homogeneous magnetic field directed along the gravity force. It is shown that the development of instability leads to the concentration of the magnetic field and a decrease of temperature in the vicinity of the axis of symmetry. This is suggested as a possible mechanism for the formation of sunspots.
