Two mechanisms responsible for the increasing frequency of pulsations of diminishing period are discovered: (1) displacement of the source across the L-shells and (2) a mechanism involving either nonstationary emission generation or the dispersion properties of the He(+)-containing medium when the position of the source is stable with respect to L. The frequency of emitted waves is controlled by equatorial gyrofrequencies of He(+) and O(+) ions within limits corresponding to the L-coordinate of the source.
