Voyager and Galileo observations on Europa suggest the existence of a liquid water ocean (internal ocean) under the icy crust. Although a tidal heating is supposed to prevent freezing of the internal ocean, most estimates on the tidal heating rate are based on globally averaged distribution of the dissipation. The detailed mechanism of tidal dissipation is currently unclear. In this study, we focus the ocean-silicate core boundary in Europa, where extensive region of saturated porous state is expected. Pressure fluctuation at the base of the internal ocean driven by the tidal potential could impose flow in this porous region, and flow at the tidal frequency would cause the viscous dissipation at the surface of pores. To evaluate the amount of heating by this process, we model the situation where a liquid water flows in the porous rock due to periodic variation of pressure at the upper part of rock core, and calculate the heat flux caused by a viscous dissipation. As a result of this simulation, we have found that the periodic tidally-induced flow generates significant amount of heat flux exceeding the radiogenic heating in case that the core surface rock has some large permeability. This heating process is important for the thermal history of Europa in the respect that this heat warms directly the base of the internal ocean.
