An expression for the total galactic-cosmic-ray (GCR) current is obtained from the kinetic equation which takes into account the presence of regular nonuniform magnetic and electric interplanetary fields with allowance for the scattering of cosmic-ray particles by field fluctiations. It is shown that, in the slightly anisotropic case, the transverse GCR drift in the IMF is fully compensated by magnetization currents and does not contribute to the anisotropy. The representation of the distribution as the sum of the isotropic component and the first harmonic in the space of particle momentum directions is valid for the same conditions as the drift approximation.
