Accumulation rates of the trace metals Mn, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co and Sr,
calculated for Australian dust samples indicate that sediment in areas
of the South Pacific affected by dust falls from this source can
accumulate these metals at rates similar to sediment in areas of the
South Pacific where little detrital material is received.
