The recoil corrected continuum shell model is employed to calculate the 148°, p+ 7Be excitation function and identify the nature of the structures in those cross sections. Asymptotic normalization constants for the 8B ground state are also provided. The ground state is nearly an even mix of channel spins one and two. The R -matrix formalism is then used to clarify the use of asymptotic normalization constants.
