Simultaneous Hα filtergrams and spectrograms of the flare on 23 August 1990 in a large sunspot umbra are analysed. The umbra flare continuum spectrum was distinctly observed during two hours. A weaker continuum was fixed also before the flare in the Hα emission flocculi intensity presence in the sunspot umbra. A possible model of the "white" flare in the sunspot umbra is discussed when the primary wave source of energy is under the photosphere.
