Scientific paper

During and since the International Magnetospheric Study, the Geomagnetism Unit of the UK Institute of Geological Sciences deployed digitally recording magnetometers at various locations in Northern Europe and Iceland, plus a conjugate pair in Newfoundland and Antarctica. Some of the results from this array that have contributed to the understanding of continuous pulsations are reviewed. The topics covered include field line resonance, azimuthal wavelength, the effect of the ionosphere, the role of the plasmapause, and correlations with the interplanetary magnetic field.
