The energies of observed cosmic radiation reaches up to several times 10**20 eV. In the center of mass for interactions with atmospheric nuclei this corresponds to several hundred TeV, considerably higher than what can be reached in man made accelerators. These rays therefore can probe, at least in an indirect way, physics beyond the Standard Model such as supersymmetry, grand unification, extra dimensions or Lorentz invariance violation. An overview of these prospects will be given in light of experiments under construction or in the proposal stage.
