Methods of determining the optimum sequences of powered and aerodynamic
(passive) descent trajectories are studied on the basis of a program for
obtaining minimum terminal velocities by controlling the L/D ratio, and
on the basis of two versions of retrojet control. The effectiveness of
the programs is demonstrated by numerical examples.
