The dynamics of conjugate regions of ionospheric cosmic noise absorption (CNA) has been studied using multiple narrow-beam riometers at two northern hemisphere stations, Ramfjord and Ny Alesund, and one southern hemisphere station, Davis. A riometer with four fixed, spatially configured narrow beams was used to calculate the horizontal velocities of absorption regions caused by high energy particle precipitation into the ionosphere. Data obtained show that relatively few conjugate events were identifiable at all three stations, which suggests that conjugacy must be affected by processes not accounted for by the magnetic field line models. A high degree of conjugacy was found in the CNA regions dynamics, with the particle precipitation having both poleward and equatorward moving parts.
