The fluid limit of the Bogolivbov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon equations admits a self-similar solution in a flat universe with an initial scale-free spectrum. By analyzing the scaling property of the Newtonian fluid equations taking advantage of the functional method, we find that the self-similar solution is required if two additional conditions are satisfied: (a) the initial fluctuation is Gaussian; (b) the decaying modes and the rotational modes in initial fluctuation have decayed before the nonlinearity comes into effect.
