The degree of stationarity of the correlation of the AE and a sub p indices with interplanetary conditions was investigated on the basis of experimental data for the period January 1 to May 28, 1968. The character and degree of the correlation between these indices and solar-wind parameters is found to vary irregularly in time, which is apparently an indication of the complexity and nonstationarity of the physical processes associated with the interaction between the solar wind and the earth's magnetosphere. This fact significantly complicates the development of methods for the prediction of magnetic activity.
