The research was directed toward the development and testing of new numerical methods for particle and hybrid simulation of plasmas, and their application to physical problems of current significance in space physics and in energetic charged-particles systems. This project will terminate on August 31, 1982 and this Final Report describes (1) the research accomplished since the last renewal on April 1, 1981, and (2) a perspective of the work done since the beginning of the project in February 1972.
