We consider calibration of the Lyon-Fedder-Mobarry model for coupled magnetosphere-ionosphere simulation. Model output is a bivariate spatial-temporal field for energy and flux, and is available at high and low resolutions. We discuss an approach to quantifying the uncertainty in the calibration parameters (α,β,R) that combines the computationally expensive but sparser high resolution output with the lower fidelity but computationally inexpensive low resolution output.
