It is demonstrated that the charge-distribution differences between Pb-207 and Pb-208, and between Pb-206 and Pb-208, represent the most sensitive experimental quantity to determine the compression modulus inside of the nuclei. It is shown that the position of the breathing mode does not allow extraction of the compression modulus of nuclear matter in a reliable way, and that because the breathing mode is surface-peaked, it is sensitive to an average value of the compression moduli. A compression modulus larger than 200 MeV is found which is much larger than that required by some theories of supernova explosions.
