Reported here is the first experimental measurement of the frequency dependent refractive index of crystalline hydrazine. The method used in this study is based on the measurement of the infrared spectrum of laboratory generated aerosols. The optical constants determined here should be directly useful in remote sensing and radiative transfer models of the jovian atmosphere.
