XMM-Newton performed 13 pointing observations of the Perseus cluster (Abell 426, z=0.0183), and showed remarkable features in the large-scale distribution of temperature, pressure, and entropy. We propose here to complete the XMM mosaic of the Perseus cluster with three 30 ksec pointings. The data will allow us to complete the most detailed investigation of cluster substructure, known to date, and to put constraints on the physical processes associated with it.
