The analysis of a comparison of the latitudinal and diurnal temperature variations in Earth's upper atmosphere obtained using the satellite UARS measurements and the model of neutral atmosphere MSIS-86 (Mass-Spectrometer-Incoherent-Scatter) calculations has been carried out. The model has combined the mass-spectrometer data of 17 satellites and incoherent scatter data of 5 ground-based stations. The device WINDII, installed in satellite UARS, measured the temperature from photo-chemical airglow of emission lines in height range 85-300 km. The latitudinal and diurnal temperature variations ware considered for the heights 90-110 km, 150 km, 200 km and 250 km. As a result of comparison it was found a good agreement between satellite measurements and model computations. The conclusion about the MSIS-86 model to be applicable for investigation of latitudinal, longitudinal, diurnal and seasonal variations of the temperature in Earth's upper atmosphere has been done.
