It is shown, that data of X-ray emulsion chambers (XEC) in the range of 20÷100 TeV/nucleon give the index of proton spectrum β p =-3.07±0.14. At the same time the spectral index of nuclei in the whole range of rigidities 102÷105 GV is equal to β He =2.64±0.7. In other words, the ratio H / H e decreases with increasing E. The reasons are discussed why this tendency is veiled in XEC measurements in the range of energies E<20 TeV/nucleon.
