Two independent experimental methods, direct measurement and calculation from measured values of NO2, NO, and O3 in the air, were used to measure the photolysis frequency of nitrogen dioxide, j(NO2). The photolysis frequency was also computed from a theoretical equation which expresses it as a function of solar intensity affecting the NO2 molecule. The theoretical and experimental determinations were found to be in good agreement.
