Melcher (1981a) recently proposed a method to determine the terrestrial
age of chondritic meteorites using thermoluminescence. This paper
suggests that Melcher's analysis of the second-order thermoluminescence
signals is inappropriate and hence his conclusions regarding the age
estimates are wrong.
