One of the conclusions of a recent paper of Stacey, Tuck, and Moore is
that modern geophysical evidence is compatible with a reinterpreted
result from the original Eötvös experiment: ||av-bs||~=290 m.
We show that this conclusion is contradicted by evidence presented in an
earlier review by Stacey and co-workers.
