Research methods and results from physics and psychology are used to explore a question in quantum mechanics. In this investigation, an observer variable is manipulated in an experimental context concerning the trajectory of electrons affected by their movement through a Stern-Gerlach apparatus. The basis in psychology concerning why the observer variable is significant in the experimental context is discussed. This investigation can serve as a prototype for more complicated investigations.
