The Columbus project has a very compact and versatile telescope. The facility design will take advantage of this by providing a compact facility, that incorporates maximum utility of volume, yet provides for all the operational functions. Preliminary analysis has encouraged the development of ideas such as rapid optics changes and in situ aluminizing, in a very compact, low cost facility.
