The dynamics of the interstellar gas in the gravitational field of the sun is analyzed, treating the motion of the sun with respect to the gas as a hydrodynamic flow in the field of a point source. It is shown that deceleration of the interstellar gas in the solar gravitational field leads to a substantial increase in gas density. The influence of the charge-exchange between ions and (interstellar) hydrogen atoms on the deceleration of the solar wind is examined.
