The most recent observations of prompt optical afterglows of GRBs like GRB030329 are the strongest evidence so far that jet emission from collapsars produce ``long'' GRBs associated with supernovae. Recent simulations of collapsar jets indicate that the jet is unstable as it propagates through the atmosphere of the collapsar progenitor up to the breakout point. Recollimation shocks and pinch-body wave modes in the flow are important at breakout for the subsequent jet evolution into a wind. From our stability analysis we predict that pinch-body modes should develop just upstream from the jet head at breakout. Along with the Aloy et al. (2000) observed non-adiabatic density fluctuations, this provides a baseline for the evolution of overrunning relativistic shells in the GRB fireball.
