On February 14th 2003 Cluster spacecraft encountered a large cusp diamagnetic cavity. The spacecraft separation of 5000 km enables us to study the large scale structure of this cavity and compare with 3-D high resolution MHD simulations. We have used minimum variance analysis to determine the orientation of the cavity boundaries for the actual and simulated data. IMF is initially northward and then turns southward. This change in the IMF orientation causes reconnection site to change location and causes the cavity to re-form at the sunward side of the cusp. We calculate the size of the cavity to be ~ 1 RE along Cluster trajectory. Inside the cavity the time series shows 'turbulence'. We will illustrate that while some of this 'turbulence' can be explained by back and forth motion of the cavity boundary by the spacecraft, there is also some 3-D structure present at the cavity boundary. High-energy particles have been often observed at the cusp diamagnetic cavities. We will discuss the possible physical mechanisms for this particle acceleration and discuss our recent test particle simulation results.
