Using electric field and spacecraft potential data from the Electric Field and Wave experiment (EFW) on Cluster, we present a preliminary analysis of several bow shock crossings. Spacecraft potential is used, as a proxy for electron density, to identify the shock ramp. A timing analysis gives the shock speed and normal, which then give a spatial measurement. We will also discuss preliminary work on electric field measurements and electrostatic turbulence in the shock transition region.
